food entrepreneurs get a head start
125 years of expertise in the food industry combined today to celebrate
the launch of a Food Hero network at the brand new Malmo Park, Hull’s
first ever food innovation and technology centre. The outstanding eight,
as they’re billing themselves, is made up of experts from across
the food sector – from manufacturing to marketing, finance, product
development and training.
Comprising
ex managing directors, marketeers, chefs and food scientists, the team
at Malmo Park is ready and waiting for businesses to come and learn from
their expertise in the food arena.

the on-site manager of Malmo Park explains, “We know how difficult
it can be to start a food business, so we’ve assembled the best
advice and expertise in the county to give businesses a head start in
an increasingly competitive market.”
Malmo Park
is a new concept in food manufacturing, the business park offers subsidised
production and managed office space for up and coming food entrepreneurs,
acting as an “incubator” unit for these companies. But they
don’t stop there.
“The
key ingredient, is the onsite business expertise and development kitchen.
I can confidently say, if you’re a food business looking for new
premises, Malmo offers not only the most competitive rates, but the know-how
and expertise to get your business off the ground. We’re already
looking to plan our first “meet the buyer” events to put our
manufacturers in touch with retailers,” says Field.
The aim of
Malmo Park is to build of community of food entrepreneurs that compliment
and work collectively, they might share production teams, work jointly
on distribution or join forces to exhibit at trade shows.
